Memories of Castlereagh app for iPhone and iPad

Welcome to the Memories of Castlereagh Heritage Trail App. Funded through the Heritage Lottery & Castlereagh Borough Council (Now Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council), this app brings to life the rich heritage of the Castlereagh Borough, celebrating the many historical characters who have helped shape the landscape that is Castlereagh today.

The audio-visual app features local residents, historians and community groups recounting interesting stories, personal memories and the historical facts that have now become ‘Memories of Castlereagh’. At each stopping point (marked by interpretative panels) the app will explain the fascinating history of the local area while visual maps will help to guide you along the trail.

From prehistoric tombs and ancient Celtic raths with spectacular views, to Norman forts and beautiful demesnes hosting some of Ireland’s oldest trees, this enthralling trail explores Castlereagh’s rich and fascinating heritage through some of Northern Ireland’s most idyllic scenery.

You can spend as long as you like exploring the trail, from an hour long walk to a full day discovering Memories of Castlereagh.
